Hill Country and Rain

(March 31)

My Saturday in Texas was exciting! Hank’s left front jack sank 4 inches in mud, then my auto level system decided it didn’t like me because I brought it out of the mud and onto level ground.  I called all the service places for help – no one was working. I watched the auto leveling DVD that came with my camper. Not helpful. I googled forums. Nothing.

I took my kids to a church Easter event where I lost a pearl earring and my kids ate way too much candy.  That night 3 men tried to help me but couldn’t figure out why my leveling system stopped working. I ended my day with wooooosah beer and a campfire after fighting with the kids and sending them to bed.

My Sunday was better. I went to church, searched 30 minutes for my earring in the grass around the church, no luck. When I went to leave church I found my earring on the passenger side floorboard with the backing still in!? Everyone must have let me go all day without telling me I had one earring in my ear!? Cool! I don’t have to have an excuse to go to the Philippines and buy another pair of earrings while I visit my grandmother’s birthplace. We relaxed and had a nice Easter lunch with the Voss Family. I went to bed that night with hydraulic jacks under the booty of the camper and my head tilted towards the ground but secure. 🙂

Monday morning I called Jayco, while being Oliver and Emerson’s teacher. (Fun! NOT) They referred me to a local guy, who referred me to a mobile rv repair company, who took 8 hours to call back. She. He started saying things like you may be stuck for a while if I have to order parts… I started to get a little freaked out. There are 125 people flying into Texas this week for my brother’s wedding. It’s the whole reason I’m in Texas! There are family members staying in Hank while I am in the “wedding family” lodging. This is not going to work. The last option I have is to see if the slides will come in, hook it up to the truck (again) and move it. I did this. Normally the slides don’t come in if the camper is not level. I know. I’ve tried. But this time it worked, I prayed a lot yesterday in church. Haha. (Don’t use that as an example for your future rving, it may not work for you…) but for me it worked, and I fell to the ground and thanked Jesus again. Then I called the service guy and canceled his spot for tomorrow afternoon. Now I’m in bed, happy, level, my head not slanting towards the dirt, but nicely over gravel below my slide out, and I’m drinking celebratory wine!  Gnight world.

I got this $/:@. Sometimes, your leveling system just needs 48 hours of timeout.
